Patient Access

Ordering repeat prescriptions

Please allow 48 working hours for a repeat prescription to be issued by the Practice.

Repeat prescriptions can be requested online, via reception or by using our dedicated 24hour repeat prescription line 02892603123.

Please note that the repeat prescription line is only for repeat medication requests. Do not leave requests for anything else on this dedicated line.

To register for online ordering please contact reception team to obtain your individual log in details.

Please note that repeat prescriptions will only be issued for medication previously prescribed and authorised as a repeat by a Doctor. Repeats are not normally authorised for antibiotics, contraception and HRT.

Your health is your responsibility and this includes the ordering of repeat prescriptions on time.

For your convenience we would encourage you to nominate a local community Pharmacy to collect your prescriptions from the Practice.

If you have not nominated a pharmacy please advise a member of our reception team when making your medication request.

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription please contact our reception team. Your query will be directed to our Practice Based Pharmacist.

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

About pharmacists

As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:

  • coughs
  • colds
  • sore throats
  • tummy trouble
  • aches and pains

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Find a Pharmacy

Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.
